Clare McLean

After qualifying from Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2003, I worked for 2 years in a mixed practice in Darlington.  During my time there I developed an interest in small animal medicine.  As a result of this passion, I moved on to a referral centre for small animals in West Yorkshire where I spent 6 years and was awarded my General practitioner certificate in small animal medicine by the European School of Veterinary Post Graduate Studies in 2010.  In 2011 I returned home to Newcastle and joined a leading UK small animal charity. The busy caseload enabled me to develop my small animal surgical and diagnostic skills and I then progressed to become veterinary team leader for the hospital.  In 2017 I took up the role as Clinical Director at Sheriffs Highway Vets. I enjoy all aspects of small animal work but have a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and soft tissue surgery.

I live in Newcastle with my Husband, Son and 2 cats and in my spare time I love reading and travelling.
